Refund policy

Last updated: September 12, 2026

At Simply Settled, we understand that a senior transition is personal and that circumstances can change. Our goal is to provide families with thoughtful guidance, organized coordination, and dependable support throughout the process.

Because our services are personalized to each client and may involve planning, research, coordination, scheduling, communication, and time reserved specifically for your transition, our refund policy is designed to be fair while reflecting work that has already been completed or committed on your behalf.

1. General Refund Policy

Refund eligibility depends on the service purchased, whether work has begun, the amount of work completed, and any non-refundable costs incurred on the client's behalf.

Simply Settled does not guarantee a full refund after services have begun.

Any portion of a service that has already been performed, completed, scheduled, or committed may be non-refundable.

Our goal is to communicate applicable refund terms clearly and handle cancellation requests reasonably and consistently.

2. Before Services Begin

If you request cancellation before Simply Settled has begun work on your transition, you may be eligible for a refund of amounts paid, less any applicable non-refundable payment processing fees or other costs already incurred.

For purposes of this policy, services may be considered to have begun when Simply Settled has started work specifically related to your purchase, including planning, research, preparation, coordination, scheduling, or communication on your behalf.

3. After Services Have Begun

Once work has begun, refunds may be limited because Simply Settled may have already invested time and resources specifically for your transition.

This may include:

  • Consultation time

  • Transition planning

  • Research

  • Preparation of your personalized roadmap

  • Vendor research or communication

  • Scheduling

  • Family communication

  • Administrative preparation

  • Coordination with senior living communities or other professionals

  • Other work performed specifically for your transition

Any refund issued after services have begun will be determined based on the portion of services that has not yet been performed and any costs already incurred.

4. Personalized Planning and Roadmap Services

Customized planning services are generally non-refundable once the planning work has begun.

This is because the planning process involves time and research dedicated specifically to the client's circumstances, needs, preferences, and transition goals.

If a client cancels after Simply Settled has begun preparing a personalized transition plan or roadmap, the portion of the fee attributable to work already completed may not be refundable.

5. Third-Party Services and Expenses

Simply Settled may coordinate with independent vendors and professionals on a client's behalf.

Payments made directly to third-party providers are subject to those providers' individual refund and cancellation policies.

Simply Settled is not responsible for refunding amounts paid directly to third parties.

If Simply Settled has paid or incurred a third-party expense on a client's behalf with appropriate authorization, that amount may be deducted from any applicable refund if the expense is non-refundable.

Third-party expenses may include vendor deposits, cancellation fees, reservation fees, administrative fees, or other committed costs.

6. Vendor Cancellations

If a vendor cancels or becomes unavailable, Simply Settled will make reasonable efforts to identify an appropriate alternative or adjust the transition plan.

Vendor cancellation does not automatically create a right to a refund of Simply Settled's coordination fees because Simply Settled's planning and coordination work may still have been performed.

If a vendor issue materially prevents Simply Settled from providing a portion of the purchased service, we will work with the client to determine an appropriate resolution.

7. Client-Initiated Changes

Clients may request changes to their services, timing, or transition plan.

Whenever reasonably possible, Simply Settled will work with the client to adjust the plan rather than cancel the service entirely.

Changes to the scope of services may result in additional fees or changes to the anticipated timeline.

A change in circumstances, including a change in senior living preference, family availability, moving date, or home sale plans, does not automatically create a right to a refund for work already completed.

8. Rescheduling

We understand that timing can change during a senior transition.

When reasonably possible, Simply Settled will work with clients to reschedule services rather than cancel them.

Rescheduling requests should be made as early as possible.

If Simply Settled has already completed planning or coordination work, those services remain subject to the applicable terms of this Refund Policy.

Third-party appointments or services may also be subject to the individual provider's cancellation and rescheduling policies.

9. Delays Outside the Client's or Simply Settled's Control

Senior transitions can be affected by circumstances that neither the client nor Simply Settled can reasonably control.

Examples may include:

  • Changes in senior living availability

  • Delays in a home sale

  • Vendor scheduling issues

  • Weather

  • Illness or emergencies

  • Family circumstances

  • Construction or repair delays

  • Transportation issues

  • Unexpected property conditions

  • Other unforeseen circumstances

A delay does not automatically result in a refund.

When possible, Simply Settled will work with the client to adjust the roadmap, reschedule services, or determine another reasonable path forward.

10. Services That Cannot Be Completed

If Simply Settled is unable to complete a portion of the purchased services for reasons within Simply Settled's reasonable control, we will work with the client to determine an appropriate resolution.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include completing the service at a later date, providing an alternative service of comparable value, or issuing an appropriate partial refund for services that were paid for but not performed.

11. No Refund for Desired Outcomes

Simply Settled provides professional coordination, planning, guidance, and support. We do not guarantee specific outcomes.

Refunds are not provided solely because a client does not receive a desired outcome from a third-party provider or because circumstances do not develop as anticipated.

Examples include:

  • A preferred senior living community is unavailable

  • A home does not sell for the anticipated price

  • A vendor's work does not meet the client's expectations

  • A move date changes

  • A client changes their mind about a recommended option

  • A family changes its transition plans

Simply Settled will make reasonable efforts to assist with adjustments and next steps when appropriate.

12. How to Request a Refund

Refund requests should be submitted to:

Email: info@simplysettled.us
Phone: +1 314-246-0297

Please include the client's name, the service purchased, and the reason for the cancellation or refund request.

Simply Settled will review the request based on the services performed, work completed, costs incurred, and circumstances surrounding the request.

13. Refund Processing

If a refund is approved, it will generally be issued to the original payment method.

Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution.

Simply Settled is not responsible for delays caused by a client's bank, credit card company, or other financial institution.

14. Exceptions and Special Circumstances

Simply Settled understands that every senior transition is different.

In exceptional circumstances, we may consider a refund, credit, rescheduling, or other resolution outside of the standard policy when appropriate.

Any exception is made at the discretion of Simply Settled and does not create an obligation to provide the same exception in another situation.

15. Relationship to the Terms of Service

This Refund Policy forms part of the Simply Settled Terms of Service and applies to purchases of Simply Settled services.

By purchasing services from Simply Settled, the client acknowledges that they have reviewed and agreed to this Refund Policy.

If any provision of this Refund Policy conflicts with a mandatory requirement of applicable law, the applicable law will control.

16. Changes to This Refund Policy

Simply Settled may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business practices, or applicable legal requirements.

The version of the Refund Policy presented at the time of purchase will generally apply to that purchase unless otherwise required by law.
